The model is a 1/48 scale Hawk kit. The Photoshop “artistic
watercolor filter” was used for the painted effect. The Blues
went to the Bearcat after flying the Hellcat for only a few months
in 1946.

1954 and Blue Angel apposing solo’s 5 and
6 cross low over the crowd in their F9F-5 Grumman Panthers. Model
is a single Hasagawa 1/72 scale F9F-5 Panther. “brush stroke
crosshatch” is the applied Photoshop filter. |

In 1957 the Blue Angels transitioned to the F-11 Tiger, the Navy’s first fighter capable of flying beyond the speed of
sound. This picture depicts the #4 Slot position bird being looked
after by its crew chief. The model was built by aviation artist Gerry
Asher who is not only an outstanding modeler, pilot and aviation
artist but is president of the American Society Of Aviation Artist.
Many modelers will recognize a small part of Gerry’s work on
the box art of the Collect-Aire Resin Model kits. The Photoshop “ artistic
- watercolor” filter was applied to create the final image.

This picture shows the transition of the Blue Angels F-4J Phantom
to the A-4F Skyhawk in 1973. The models
are the 1/48 scale Hasagawa F-4J and the Monogram A-4E Skyhawk.
The applied filter in Photoshop was the “artistic - poster edges”.
